Crop a profile picture
Profile pictures are square. This page opens on the X size, 400 x 400 pixels, and lists the others.
SnapCut crops and sizes the photo only. It does not check your face, expression or background.
Your photo never leaves this device. To check, open your browser's developer tools, choose Network, and crop a photo: no request carries it.
The Profile pictures view in the picker lists the profile picture sizes SnapCut knows: X at 400 x 400, LinkedIn at 400 x 400, the Facebook Page profile picture at 320 x 320, and YouTube at 800 x 800. All are 1:1, so the crop frame is a square and one framing works for every site.
A profile picture is usually shown small and often inside a circle. Put the face in the middle of the square and leave room around it, because the corners of the file may be cut off by the circle.
YouTube shows its profile picture at 98 x 98 pixels, so 800 x 800 leaves room for a sharp result on large screens. LinkedIn accepts 400 x 400 to 7680 x 4320 pixels and up to 8 MB. Check each site's current rules before you upload, since sizes change.
Pick a platform from the list, choose the size, and open your photo. Zoom in until the face fills the frame, then drag to centre it. The file is exported at exactly the size on the button, with no extra information from the original photo.
