Crop a photo for Instagram
Pick a platform and a size, or type your own. SnapCut crops the photo to exactly that many pixels.
SnapCut crops and sizes the photo only. It does not check your face, expression or background.
Your photo never leaves this device. To check, open your browser's developer tools, choose Network, and crop a photo: no request carries it.
The picker on this page opens on the Instagram group. Portrait, 1080 x 1350 pixels, is the 4:5 portrait size, so it is the starting size. Square, Landscape, Grid and Story and Reel sit in the same list; choose one and the frame changes shape at once.
No Instagram page confirming these pixel sizes could be checked, so SnapCut lists them as sizes commonly given by third-party guides and shows the date they were last checked. If a size matters to you, type your own width and height instead; the fields accept pixels, millimetres, centimetres and inches.
Choose a photo, then drag it under the frame to place the part you want. The zoom slider, the position sliders and the arrow keys do the same without a mouse. The frame always stays inside the picture, so the file never has blank edges. If the part you picked is smaller than the output, a warning says the crop will be enlarged and may look soft.
Download a JPEG or a PNG at exactly the size on the button. A JPEG is smaller; a PNG keeps transparent areas. Other pages here cover Instagram squares and Stories, Facebook, YouTube, X, LinkedIn and Pinterest.
