Crop a Pinterest Pin
A Pinterest Pin is tall: 2:3, 1000 x 1500 pixels. This page opens on that size.
SnapCut crops and sizes the photo only. It does not check your face, expression or background.
Your photo never leaves this device. To check, open your browser's developer tools, choose Network, and crop a photo: no request carries it.
Third-party guides commonly give 1000 x 1500 pixels for a Pin; Pinterest's own page lists only a 9:16 ratio for video Pins, so SnapCut marks this size as unofficial. The ratio is 2:3, so the frame is one and a half times as tall as it is wide, which suits photographs taken upright.
A portrait photo from a phone is usually close to 3:4, so a Pin crop trims only a little from the sides. A landscape photo keeps a narrow slice, which you can slide left or right with the horizontal position slider after zooming in. The frame never leaves the picture, so the Pin has no blank edges.
Text and logos should sit well inside the frame, because a Pin is often seen small. Use the thirds grid to line up a subject. The grid is for editing only: it is never in the file you download.
Use the Platform list for other shapes. Square and 4:5 sizes sit under Instagram, and the tall 9:16 sizes are gathered in the Vertical 9:16 view. The download is a JPEG or a PNG at exactly 1000 x 1500 pixels.
